Pothos plants are some of the easiest plants to care for. They thrive and grow quickly without much attention. Pothos plants go by various names including devil\u2019s ivy and Scindapsus aureus.\u00a0 They are known for their heart shaped leaves and fast growing vines.<\/p>\n

Pothos are the perfect plants for hanging baskets<\/a>, wall sconces<\/a>, fiberglass planters<\/a>, or climbing trellises. Pothos can be pinched back regularly to encourage bushier growth. If they are not pinched back, the plants tend to grow lanky and thin. Pothos plants can be propagated \u00a0from the cuttings. You can place the cut stems directly in soil and keep them moist until the roots are established and the cuttings begin to grow. If your plant becomes thin, you should prune it back and place the cuttings in the same pot to fill it out.<\/p>\n

Light<\/h2>\n

Pothos are not picky when it comes to light or water. Pothos will thrive in a directly sunny windowsill or in practically no light at all. The amount of light may effect the coloring and variegation of the leaves, but the plant will still grow and thrive.<\/p>\n

Water<\/h2>\n

Pothos prefer to remain on the dry side. You can let the plant become very dry before you will see the plant suffer. You should wait to water the plant until the potting medium is dry a few inches down. If the plant remains too soggy, you can risk root rot.<\/p>\n

Cleaning<\/h2>\n

Pothos plants will benefit from a regular dusting. Their broad leaves quickly collect dust. The dust can look unsightly and interfere with photosynthesis. To keep the plant looking its best, wipe down the leaves with a damp cloth.<\/p>\n

Clean Air<\/h2>\n

In addition to being very easy to care for, pothos plants are well known for being able to clean the air. A NASA study has identified several popular indoor plants as being excellent at removing indoor air pollutants. The golden pothos is particularly adept at removing formaldehyde, benzene and carbon monoxide.
